Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow | Rave Review

Urban Decay's Naked Palette is perhaps one of the most popular makeup products I have ever read about. As a result, I am not planning to ever do a review on it. I have nothing to say that hasn't been said more eloquently by others I'm afraid. I will however, RAVE about one individual eyeshadow.. the eponymous 'Naked.' I thought this might be useful in case anyone is accidentally neglecting this little beauty because it looks.. pretty boring. Even though it's not the prettiest or sparkliest eyeshadow in the world, or even in the palette, I still want to give it some love on here. I love you Naked.. (that sounded a bit weird).
This is maybe my all-time favourite eyeshadow for a couple of reasons. 1) It is matte and as finishes go, matte eyeshadows are far too uncommonly found (Naked only has one matte friend, 'Buck' in the Naked Palette) 2) I use it in multiple ways- It is brilliant for my brows and in my outer corner/crease.

If you're fair like I am, I think Naked is one of the best eyeshadows you can have in your collection. It doesn't look very exciting in the pan at all, but it pulls eye looks together so well and does a great job on my brows. While other colours in the palette initially stood out to me and excited me (Gun Metal, Half Baked), Naked is the one which I rely on daily.
Of course, it seems like everybody has the Naked Palette, but if you don't this little gem of an eyeshadow will set you back £14. That's a lot. Which I suppose is why the Naked Palette is such good value for money. For £36 you can get the palette containing twelve full-size eyeshadows as well as the famous primer potion and one of their Good Karma eyeshadow brushes.

Would I but it individually? Probably not. When it runs out I think I'll just re purchase the palette as there are four or five other shadows I use from it on a daily basis and I am not going to be repurchasing them all individually.. ever (ooh dramatic). Anyway, not to sound like I'm here to promote the palette (I'm not), I will just end by saying that I thoroughly enjoy using this eyeshadow, and maybe you do too, but if not- check it out!

  2. "I love you naked!" haha, this line alone has quite drawn me into your blog.. Thank you for the deep and extensive comment on my blog! I did reply ( http://rivasoave.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/mua-eyeshadow-review.html )You are making me think that I should not be overlooking the primer!
I love your blog! I'm following you on bloglovin now :)

Onto this post.. I have never purchased a Naked palette, always wanted one, always intended to get one, but never got to the point in saving where I can (IE after I've reached around £20 it is imminently in danger of being spent). But I see what you mean about it being a good idea to get the palette instead of individual shadows.. Is the primer that comes with it full size? If so I could get a palette when my primer eventually runs out! This sounds like a good plan!

    1. Thank you :) I'm off to follow your blog too! The primer isn't full size and it comes in the old style packaging- not the cool new squeezy tube. I think it's about half size? Haha, I know what you mean about saving and then.. whoop it's gone. I find it so difficult to save :(.. bit weird bit you're flying anywhere with easyjet, they sell it on board for £25. Obviously you shouldn't go and fly somewhere on easyjet to get the palette, but if you were going to be flying with them, you can get it for a bit cheaper :)! x

  3. Good matte colours are so hard to come by! I've been umming and arhhing over weather to get this or not. Although it's one of the most raved about beauty products ever!!!! Quite a few people have mentioned that there's quite a bit of fall out from these shadows, and fall out really irritates me!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier :)

    1. Thanks for the comment :) and I know what you mean about fall out, it's so irritating. I can't say whether or not I find it to be super fall out-y because recently I've been using one of the Sleek matte palettes and OH MY GOD- it is fall out city. So in comparison the Naked palette seems like nothing, although there definitely is a bit in the more shimmery colours x

    1. I know. £14 seems insane, especially when you consider it works out at about £2 or £3 when you but it in the palette! x

  8. Thanks for the comment! I love this palette too. And naked is my favorite shadow in it also. For a quick everyday look I put naked all over the lid with buck in the crease. I still want to try naked2!
